Library

The Shared Freedom library is a citizen’s arsenal — the books that make free people harder to fool and harder to rule.

The Shared Freedom volume of Freedom and Reality renders the Assembly’s vision in civic language: the giver-receiver relation as the moral economy of a free society, prevailing as the citizen’s refusal of every “decaying” power, the four principles as the load-bearing walls. In the Assembly shop.

Around it: the civic canon and its commentaries, the democratic classics (Mill, the Federalists, Thoreau, King), works on deliberation and depolarization, media literacy and propaganda analysis, and histories of how freedoms were won — and how they were lost. The children’s shelf is strong here: the order believes civic virtue, like liberty itself, must be taught to each generation or it dies with the last.
