Core Teachings

Tawhid: The Oneness of God

The absolute foundation: God is One, without partner, without equal, without division. Say: He is Allah, the One; Allah, the Eternal Refuge; He neither begets nor is born; and there is none like unto Him. Every other teaching flows from this clarity. The order guards tawhid fiercely — in worship, in theology, in the refusal to divinize anything created, however beloved.

Isa, the Messiah and the Word

The Qur’an presents Isa son of Mary as the Messiah (al-Masih), a Word from God, and a Spirit from Him — born of the virgin Maryam, performing miracles by God’s permission, and raised to God rather than crucified. This order contemplates Isa as the supreme sign of divine mercy entering human history: the healer, the wisdom-speaker, the one who will return. Our devotion to Isa is Qur’anic to the core and central to our identity.

Maryam, Above All Women

Maryam is the only woman named in the Qur’an, honored with a chapter in her name and praised as chosen above all women of the worlds. Her story — the miraculous provision, the solitary labor under the palm, the vindication of her innocence by her infant son’s speech — is the order’s icon of trust: total receptivity to God’s will, total dignity in the face of accusation. Our sisters look to Maryam; our brothers learn reverence from her.

Muhammad, the Messenger

We honor Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him, as the final Messenger — the faithful, courageous conveyor of the Qur’anic revelation, the exemplar of character (uswa hasana). Our focus on Isa and Maryam in devotion does not diminish his station; it reflects this order’s particular calling within the Assembly’s many paths. We love the Messenger by following the message: mercy, justice, and truthfulness.

Rahma: Mercy as the Divine Signature

My mercy encompasses all things. The order teaches that mercy is not God’s mood but God’s nature — the signature on every act of creation. Our practice aims to make us merciful as He is merciful: to parents, to neighbors, to strangers, to the creatures, to ourselves.
