Earn FRE the Sikh way: seva hours (langar, cleanup, protection work), nitnem consistency, teaching, and honest dasvandh given. Spend it on the community’s needs — langar supplies, gathering costs, support for members in hardship. Every transaction is visible to the sangat, because the tradition holds that community money must bear community scrutiny.
The order sees FRE as a tool of sovereignty: a community that tracks its own giving, funds its own work, and answers to no outside power is a community that cannot be bought. The steel bracelet (kara) on the wrist reminds the Sikh of unbreakable commitment; FRE on the ledger reminds the sangat of unbreakable mutual responsibility.
